3-Light

"Get that headlamp out of eyes would ya!" The head of the construction project yelled at the man who kept turning around. He instantly swiveled forward and fixed his gaze forward. The group projected light all over the cavern, a simple comfort in a dark place. Then the rumbling began, they all knew what was happening, they knew a collapse when they heard one. They all did what they could, they collapsed on the ground, and prayed for their lives.
-------
The men sat about, it had been a couple of days, they had somehow survived in a pocket of rock, with air coming through the cracks. They had nothing they could do to get out, except wait for someone, someone who may never be coming. All the men had was hope, it was they lived by at this point, the hope of seeing their family and friends. The headlights that had been their friends before, was now their life essence. But slowly, one by one, the lights had gone out, until only one was left. Now, this was the time. The light had flickered, and the men feared for hope, and then it went black...
A distant rumble echoed through the rubble, and hope was renewed with the sign of new light.
